On July 19th, thousands of brands, cocktail experts, cocktail lovers and everything else in between will descend upon New Orleans for the annual Tales of the Cocktail (also known as TOTC).

Now in its 14th year, TOTC brings together some of the biggest names in the business to showcase their latest offerings, allow bartenders to display their talents and of course give attendees the chance to try just about everything. If you’re coming to get sloppy drunk, then this isn’t the event for you.

Here are five events that you need to check out during Tales of the Cocktail.

Eating Good At Tales Restaurant Week

Tales of the Cocktail isn’t just all about drinking, it also has some amazing food options. Tales Restaurant Week features eighteen restaurants that will be rolling out specially priced menus for lunch and/or dinner between July 18th through July 25th.

Drink And Learn On The New Orleans Cocktail Tour

While there will be many chances to taste the creations of hundreds of  bartenders original amazing cocktails during the event, the New Orleans Cocktail Tour exposes you to the best that NOLA has to offer. Tourgoers will have the chance to visit some of the city’s most legendary and celebrated bars and bartenders. The tour will be narrated by New Orleans native, Joe Gendusa as he will share stories and tall tales about each bar.

This event takes place at 4 pm on Wednesday, July 20th at Le Booze bar of the Royal Sonesta. The best part is, your first cocktail at Le Booze is included. Don’t miss out!

There Can Only Be One – Tales of the Cocktail 2016 Official Cocktail Competition

The Tales of the Cocktail Official Cocktail Competition is where bartenders from far and wide test their creativity to create the best cocktail. The theme this year is Moscow Mule meaning competing bartenders must reinvent this classic drink. The winner receives a custom trophy, a cash prize and will be honored throughout the Tales of the Cocktail 2016.

The action takes place on Wednesday, July 20th from 2 – 3 p.m., in front of the Hotel Monteleone.

Be In Good Company At The Spirited Dinner Series

On Thursday night, during the week of Tales of the Cocktail, bars around the city will be taking part in the Spirited Dinner series. This is a chance for you to learn more about various liquor brand’s portfolio while tasting the amazing food prepared by some of New Orleans top chefs. On this night, chefs and bartenders work together to create the perfect meal, an out of this world dish, topped off with an amazing paired cocktail.

Many places are already sold out, but there are still some restaurants that you can snag a table at.

Ain’t No Party Like A Freret Street Bar Crawl Party

Sunday is the final day of the event and what better way to end it then with a one of a kind bar crawl. The Freret Street Bar Crawl isn’t your typical standard drinking event. Guest bartenders from around the world will be mixing and making signature drinks, some of which will never be seen again.

The activities begin at 5 pm at High Hat Cafe and the best part is…this event is open to the public. Yup, that’s right, even if you aren’t a Tales of Cocktail attendee you can still get your drink on!

  • High Hat Café, 5 to 7 p.m., Tuthilltown Spirits and KGB Spirits prepared by Patrick Pierpoint with Ryan Iriarte.
  • Ancora, 6 to 8 p.m., Amaro Lucano, Varnelli, Montanaro and Zabov prepared by Tad Carducci with Bryn Thompson.
  • Company Burger, 6 to 9 p.m., a foosball tournament with classic spirits prepared by Salvatore Tartufi and Damian Coran with Evan Wolf.
  • Bar Frances, 7 to 9 p.m., Suze, La Quintinye Vermouth Royal, G’Vine and Chateau du Tariquet prepared by Craig Seaman.
  • Cure, 8 to 10 p.m., Skinos prepared by Fabio Raffaelli with Ryan Gannon.
  • Gasa Gasa, 9 to 11 p.m. Close the night down with Diplimatico Rum and Gracias a Dios prepared by Tarita Noronha with Emily Morris.
