PLACES TO GET A WORKOUT IN DURING TALES OF THE COCKTAIL

Yesterday we talked about some of the great events happening during Tales of the Cocktail 2016. Today we’re going to examine places where you can go to break a sweat during the week.

This year, Tales of the Cocktail has inked partnership deals with three companies: The Sweat Social, Novo Fogo and Friends of the Cabildo to offer attendees complimentary fitness classes and activities. This initiative is called the Sweat Local program, its intent is to give people choices to stay active.  Ann Tuennerman, Founder of Tales of the Cocktail explained the importance of adding in fitness into the long week, “We’re in a business that can be hard on your body. That’s why we’ve been working for the past several years to find different ways to help bartenders and other spirits professionals focus on their health.” 

Guided Running Tours

SWEAT sponsored by Novo Fogo and The Sweat Social will start every morning at 8 a.m., with a guided running tour through the streets of New Orleans. Runners of all levels are welcome as this is meant to be more of a fun run! You can expect to see many of the historic sites throughout NOLA, so make sure you bring your smartphone to take the perfect selfie. The group will be leaving from in front of the Hotel Monteleone.

High Interval Training

From 9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m., you also have the option to take interval training. The workouts will be a mix of boxing, cardio conditioning, strength training, and more! Your wristband provides you free entry. The group will be meeting at Woldenberg Riverfront Park, so don’t be late!

Yoga

If running and interval training isn’t your thing, then you can take yoga classes at one of the most historic buildings in NOLA, The Cabildo. Yoga at the Cabildo is sponsored by the Friends of the Cabildo and will take place on Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. If you can’t make it in the morning, you also have the option to take discounted yoga classes during the afternoon and evening at Reyn Studios or Bikram Yoga New Orleans.

Reyn Studios is offering all Tales of the Cocktail attendees 20% off from classes during the week, whereas, Bikram Yoga New Orleans is offering a special 7-day unlimited classes travelers membership for only $60. This includes mat and towel rental.

Now, if you’re looking for some specific workouts, Tales has got you covered. They have partnerships in place with Orangetheory Fitness, Tour Cycle StudioDowntown Fitness and Footprints to Fitness.

Orangetheory Fitness

Special offer: 3 classes for $36. Orangetheory Fitness offers 60-minute workout sessions split into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training with heart rate monitors to track intensity and maximize metabolic burn. Tour Cycle Studio

Special offer: Drop-in class for $26 or 3 classes for $48. Tour Cycle Studio is New Orleans first and online boutique cycling studio. Footprints to Fitness

Special offer: Tales attendees will be able to receive half off of one of our Group Training classes which include an energetic workout incorporating Yoga, Pilates, Cardio, Strength and Weight Training. If they BRING A BUDDY with them they can earn a FREE class. Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat & 3 – 5 lb weights.
